Informācija par autoru

Dace Andersone. Some time ago, when writing your resume (CV), you had to name your character and personality traits. Then I concluded that the most important thing for me is creativity.

If I don’t see an element of creativity in my activities, an opportunity to create something or participate in the creation of something, I not only get bored of such activities quickly, but also stop being interested.

That is why many years ago I chose a creative profession – journalism. This is how I create stories since the beginning of the 90s. For the last 8 years, I have changed traditional journalism to brand journalism.

I was born in Saulkrasti, I live in Pieriga. I am a Latvian with a rather large dose of leish blood, and the gene of the hot-blooded southern neighbors is what instilled in me the spirit of the impatient and dull Daukas.

I have liked to draw since I was a child, and I remember when I was in elementary school I had to write an essay about what I would like to be when I grow up. Then I dreamed that I could be the artist who would draw movie posters on the firewall at the Splendid Palace. The award for the best winter landscape in the national drawing competition in the 3rd grade inspired such an idea.

About painting!

I started painting seriously 3 years ago, when journalist and artist Kitty Grinstein brought me to the painting studio “Ceruleum”. There, under the guidance of LMA teacher Ilze Neiland, my painting began. Now Ingūna Namiķe has joined us, both teachers put their knowledge and skills into me.

Here in the studio, I calm my anxiety gene, because painting requires not only the ability to look and notice, but also a lot of patience. I paint with oil colors on cotton canvases everything that appeals to me (and I hope it will appeal to others as well). With my works, I have participated in the exhibition of the painting studio “Ceruleum” in the building of the Latvian Society.

As the saying goes, “I’m not a magician, I’m just learning.” It’s about me too. I am aware that the world of painting is so wide – there is still so much to learn and master. It excites and inspires new ideas. Enough for a lifetime.
