Born in Riga. I graduated from JRRMV at the time when it was in the annex next to VMA and I was introduced to the profession by H. Blunavs, E. Stalaža, G. Prēdelis, I. Vijups, J. Zemītis, etc. Later, I studied and graduated from the Department of Design (at that time industrial art) at the VMA. There, specialties were taught by A. Dembo, I. Bumbieris, G. Glūdiņš, P. Martinsons, T. Gaumigs – in design, A. Drīzulis in shaping and anatomy, K. Ubāns in painting. I came out to work a lot in the fields of design, applied graphics and advertising, however, the Rosenthal passion for drawing remained, I almost always paint this and that at the same time. I change techniques, I work in watercolor for a while, then again in oil. Lately, I’ve also been trying the currently popular acrylic. I love to work in nature, I am a realist. I have exhibited my works – a couple of times at the Ogre Museum of History and Art, the House of Architects in Riga, the Cinema Gallery, the premises of the executive directorate of the suburb of Riga Vidzeme, the Police Academy, here and there. However, since I’m not very social, I’m not passionate about it, and various fraternal societies and unions haven’t particularly enticed me either.
